We help companies develop and implement strategies through our product development and engineering services, continuous improvement programs, workforce and management development programs.
Job Description
MAGNET is seeking a highly motivated experienced “Senior Sales Consultant” for sales opportunities in Toledo and our NW Ohio territory. Sales generated by this individual will result in our clients’ profitable growth through a range of services related to innovation. A thorough knowledge of the manufacturing sector and especially the auto industry will help the successful candidate sell products and services during the economic rebound. The sales consultant becomes part of the team—maintaining strong customer relationships during the process and managing the success of the consulting engagement.
This sales consultant will be selling consulting services that deliver:
• business innovation strategies
• new product ideas
• effective product development processes
• Market diversification strategies
• Lean, Six Sigma, Continuous Improvement programs
• Product design and engineering services
This person will work closely with our delivery resources in the product development and engineering department as well as the process improvement consulting team to develop proposals with a clearly defined project scope and statement of work. The successful candidate will be expected to work closely with the marketing department and may occasionally be asked to speak at regional events to promote our services.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
• Work independently to actively pursue and generate new sales leads and develop customer relationships
• To effectively negotiate and close complex services contracts
• Achieve sales goal targets as defined
• Participate in all activities involved in the sales cycle, up to and including the generation
of proposal materials and client presentations
• Interact with and understand client’s business and technical requirements and fit potential consulting solutions around those specific needs
• Maintain and nurture client relationships to ensure additional business
Qualifications
• Assertive self-starter with a minimum of 5 years experience selling to manufacturers
• Strong ability to pursue new business opportunities
• The skills to call on and communicate effectively with all client levels from CEO’s and other decision-makers, to sell strategic level services in a consultative environment
• Outstanding aptitude to work with the client to outline their problems or issues and the desired goal
• Excellent listening and communications skills including sales presentations, proposal development, and contracts
• Currently reside in the Toledo or NW Ohio area
• Must have the ability to travel regionally as necessary
Education Required
• Bachelor’s degree in marketing, business, manufacturing or other relevant field.
This position offers the opportunity to make a meaningful contribution to the region while working with a dynamic and creative group of professionals. The Senior Sales Consultant position reports to the COO.
