Our organization was established in 1984 by leading manufacturers in the region who wanted to establish an organization that could assist smaller manufacturers in becoming more competitive. After successfully serving manufacturers for over 25 years, in 2006, we changed our name to the Manufacturing Advocacy and Growth Network, MAGNET, to reflect our broader commitment and new initiatives focused on education, advocacy, and competitiveness. Our mission is to help manufacturing and technology-based companies and entrepreneurs excel and grow through understanding, adopting, and implementing innovative methods and technologies. All of our services and initiatives are described in detail on this website. In addition to our role as an Edison Center funded by the Ohio Department of Development, MAGNET also provides Manufacturing Extension Program (MEP) services to more than 13,000 manufacturers in our service delivery area. We are home to the Third Frontier’s Center of Excellence in Innovation and we manage the Cuyahoga County Entrepreneur Loan Fund. Our business incubator for manufacturing and technology based companies is the only one of its kind in the region. |
