WHO WE ARE :: Purpose/Mission

The mission of MAGNET, the Manufacturing Advocacy & Growth Network, is to support, educate and champion manufacturing with the goal of transforming the region’s economy into a powerful, global player.

MAGNET:

• Serves as the voice of manufacturing, advocating for manufacturers in dealing with the multitude of regulatory agencies at the local and regional level and in influencing public policy.

• Encourages manufacturers to adopt the most modern manufacturing strategies and techniques.

• Provides a clearinghouse for individual manufacturers seeking assistance in the areas of productivity improvement, global access (sourcing and markets), and product innovation.

• Provides a focal point for working with regional educational institutions to provide a comprehensive set of offerings meeting the needs of manufacturing companies.

• Maintains, through a separate operating unit, direct consulting services, manages a business incubator, and conducts contract research for government agencies, such as the Department of Defense.
