MAGNET receives royalty check as initial orders are taken for photobiotherapy device commercialized through an Ohio Third Frontier Grant, MAGNET press release, June 23, 2009
Cleveland—A new medical product developed through a public/private partnership established in 2005 using a grant of $1.2 million from the State of Ohio’s Third Frontier program has reached the marketplace. The EST Advanced Photobiotherapy Device is a portable unit designed specifically for use in nursing homes for the treatment of bed sores.

Akron—General Motors' bankruptcy filing will have ripple effects on other companies and industries — including in Ohio. Industry organization MAGNET is working to get manufacturers to ''realize there are other markets out there and growing markets other than the auto and truck industry,'' said Greg Krizman, senior director of marketing. For those companies that have been or can be proactive, it will help them diversify their markets.
