New York—The Conference Board said yesterday that its index of leading indicators rose 0.6 percent in July, its fourth-straight gain. Combined with other indicators, some analysts believe the recession may already have ended, even though jobs remain scarce.

Akron—Myers Industries, a manufacturer of plastics and tool distributor, bought the remaining 50 percent interest in Sebring, Fla.-based Amerikan from Florikan.
